- Description
On the run up to D Day troops were issued with a three legged strove, 24 ration pack and the hexamine tablets to cook on. My reproduction fuel tin is based from original photos and private collection items. This tin contains 6 pure hexamine fuel tablets, a spare cooker base and the cardboard packaging to protect it all. The tin has been sprayed in a bodyshop booth and keyed forst with scothbrite cloth, then baked. Exactly the same process as you would find on vehicle body panels. This is not a rattle can spray job and should be quite hard wearing. The spray stops at the base of the lid where it was masked off. So no pressure on the paint when you take the lid on and off. The writing is a sticker on a clear backing and wording copied from an original, a couple of minor spelling anomalies so i know these are mine as there are a couple on the market. Provided are 6 pure hexamine blocks that are completely useable and fit the folding stove that i make, no mix with wax to leave residue when cooking. The hexamine is hand carved from square blocks, so please dont expect a perfect circle but they are very close. A completely usebale item in the field that you can cook on and reuse with new tablets. I strive to make useable reenacting items for an authentic field impression. |
